The “Annual Children’s Christmas Party” for the children in Queen Valley will be held on Saturday, December 14th in our Activity Hall.  Be part of the only Christmas some community children have by donating to and participating in our annual Children’s Christmas Party.  Our party combines games, crafts, Christmas cookies and other treats, gift bags, and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus.  All of the goodies are prepared by our residents and the crafts and games are manned by our Resort volunteers.  The funding and gifts come solely from our residents.  In recent years we entertained seventy-nine children and their families.  This is truly one of the highlights of December, not only for the children but also for our donors and Resort residents.

If you are returning before the Children’s Christmas Party, we would appreciate donations of toys that are new and non-gender specific.  Books for little children are acceptable but it is hard to predict the interest of older ones.  Stuffed animals are always a treat for the young ones.  As a guideline for the ages of children that attended this past year, twenty-six were 3 years of age or under, twelve were 4-6 years of age, fourteen were 7-10 years of age, nineteen were 11-14 years of age, and thirteen were 15 and older.  Our children of previous years are growing up and new little ones are arriving.  If you would like to contribute but will not be in the Resort until after December, you may send a check to the Resort office to the attention of Sally Phillips made payable to Children’s Christmas Party. Thank you for your past and future support of this incredible annual event for our community children.

The Children’s Christmas Party Fishing Pond activity has been a huge success in previous years and the children love it.  Small toys, books, good used match box toys, small children’s items, girl’s nail polish, barrettes, etc. for the fishing pond (no clothing) can be used for this activity and donations of these items are appreciated. Ages of children run from babes in arms to 18 years old.

On December 19th join us for our “Christmas Party” with Baked Potatoes & Toppings.  Enjoy an evening of “great” food, fellowship with our Resort family, singing Christmas Carols, and the announcement of the “Decorate your Winter Home for the Holidays” winners.  The Resort provides baked potatoes for the dinner, and we ask you to bring the toppings!
